Impact Gonzales continued his tear at the plate, swatting his third home run in as many games while also swiping his third bag of the season. Since being activated from the IL on May 13, Gonzales owns a .323 average with three homers, 11 RBI and six runs scored. Though his recent play has been quite encouraging, Gonzales will likely return to a backup role upon the return of Elvis Andrus (oblique), which is expected to come later this week.

Even if the White Sox value Hamilton's speed and defense enough to keep a spot open for him on the bench once he's healthy, he'll rarely start and will be difficult to stream for stolen bases even in AL-only leagues.

Impact Per James Fegan of The Athletic, White Sox general manager Rick Hahn said that Clevinger could be activated from the 15-day injured list before the team's homestand comes to an end this weekend, and the right-hander's ability to face hitters Monday seemingly supports Hahn's claim. Clevinger will presumably throw a bullpen session Wednesday or Thursday before the White Sox determine whether he's fit to return from the jammed right wrist he suffered in his May 17 start versus Cleveland, or if he'll require another simulated game or a minor-league rehab start prior to being activated. If the White Sox decide to give Clevinger more time to heal up, Jesse Scholtens would likely be in store for another turn through the rotation this weekend versus the Tigers.

Liam Hendriks - Shaky in season debut Hendriks (illness) allowed two earned runs on three hits and one walk while pitching the eighth inning of Monday's 6-4 loss to the Angels.

Impact After being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in January and requiring multiple months of chemotherapy, Hendriks was cleared to return from the 15-day injured list Monday for his 2023 season debut. Since Hendriks wasn't particularly sharp over his six rehab appearances prior to being activated -- he gave up six earned runs in five innings -- White Sox manager Pedro Grifol elected to ease the veteran closer back into the mix in a non-save situation Monday. Hendriks entered the contest with the White Sox trailing 4-3 and received a rousing ovation from the home crowd, but he wasn't able to execute during his time on the mound. He needed 27 pitches just to record three outs and threw just 16 strikes. Though the White Sox likely envision Hendriks eventually reclaiming full-time closing duties, Kendall Graveman and Joe Kelly could both still be in the mix for save chances in the short term while Hendriks attempts to regain form following a lengthy layoff from game action.
