2023 NBA Finals MVP Odds: Denver Nuggets' Nikola Jokić new favorite

The NBA Finals are set to start on June 1, and bettors are jumping in on the NBA Finals MVP odds action.

Which player from the Miami Heat-Denver Nuggets matchup will emerge as the most valuable of all?

Denver's Nikola Jokić opened as a huge favorite to win the award, and understandably so. The Joker has led his team through a dominant playoff run so far, including a sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers. On the other hand, Jimmy Butler has been Miami's MVP during the team's run through the East. Largely because of Jimmy Buckets, the Heat were able to survive their series against Boston for a chance at the Larry O'Brien trophy.

Jokić is the favorite to win Finals MVP and rightfully so after leading Denver to its best season in franchise history. The two-time MVP averaged 24.5 points, 11.8 rebounds and 9.8 assists during his 2022-23 regular season campaign. And in the playoffs, he has stepped it up even more, averaging 29.9 points, 13.3 rebounds and 10.3 assists. If he continues at this torrid pace and the Nuggets win the title, he will be a lock to win the award.

Butler currently has the second-best odds of snagging the award. His odds first shortened following the Heat's historic first-round upset of the No. 1-seed Bucks. Now that Miami has secured its place in the NBA Finals, his odds to win Finals MVP have shortened from +1400 to +333. Mr. Buckets is averaging 28.5 points per game, 7 rebounds and 5.7 assists in Miami's playoff run.
